I’m Mohamed Magdi, 18 years old, Sudanese and I live in Qatar. I lived in Qatar almost my entire life. I don’t travel much but when I do its only to visit my family. One of my goals in life is to be able to travel to different places around the world and be able to show others how incredible the world is.
Here is a little throw back of how I got into photography. As I have said before I live in Qatar we unfortunately don’t have a lot of place that look beautiful and would just blow your mind with how beautiful nature is. So I wasn’t interested in photography at all. I traveled to India for a basketball tournament it was back in 2011 an yep I still play basketball. So after we lost the tournament we went out around to some amazing places full of nature and architecture. I had a small camera with me so I just took some pictures as most tourist’s would do. When I got back to Qatar and told my parents about everything I showed them the pictures that I took and I just like how every single one of the pictures had a story behind it that you’re the only one who can tell and also that you could make people see other places and learn about the culture of a place just by a picture that you or someone else have taken. So on my birthday I asked my parents to get me a camera and I had no idea what I wanted to do with it or how to use it and what are the things that I needed. So my father saw the canon 600D and bought it for me. The camera was just there doing nothing for almost a year. But at the end of 2012 I went to Dubai and took the camera with me. as soon as we went to the hotel I just checked out the view from the balcony and started to take some pictures and they didn’t turn as good as I expected them to be. I started reading about the camera and how to use it and at that moment I got into photography. I just likes how there are a lot of things that you could do and there are a lot of different angles and each angle can show you something different about the place. And from that day until today I still learn things about photography and discover new things as I experiment with different cameras.
I love nature. Waking up early or staying up all night just so that you can go to a random place and take your camera and other gear with you just so that you can capture a beautiful sunrise or sunset is the best thing ever. I also love animals and the other randomness of nature. Every time I go out I expect seeing something new so I always try to take my gear with me and try to get as much pictures as I can because that’s what I like to do. Photography is just a hobby until now I want to make it a full-time job and try show people how beautiful the world is and tell them a story at the end of each day. I know I’m just 18 but I started something that I love and I will never stop it as long as I love it.
